ok. so, maybe like half an hour ago my husband tries to open up his browser and this was the only thing that would pop up.
that file was downloaded a while ago before we even moved when we had time warner internet.
so, he deletes the file and calls cox. he asked how/why they’re allowed to come into our computers and invade our privacy. she just gave a number for him to call with a reference number.he calls the number and after a few minutes the internet is back up. he asks again how they’re allowed to just come into our computers and scan our files looking for pirated shit and this guy on the other end of the phone says that shit is hitting the fan with demonoid getting shut down. i guess marvel got in on it and is going after anyone that has any of their shit via the fucking fbi.
the fucking fbi called cox and told them to kill our internet until we get that file off our computer. like, just wow wtf.
then he tells a friend of his about it and that guy has a friend who had the actual fbi show up at his house with a warrant.
so i guess, just heads up. if you’ve got anything marvel that you’ve used a p2p site, specially demonoid, get rid of that shit or back it up.
i’ve been using demonoid for nearly 4 years now and have thousands of songs, but i’ve never once downloaded a movie or tv show so idk if i’m in the clear or not. who knows if record companies are gonna get in on it too.and now i’m guessing the rumor that demonoid was shut down by anonymous is bullshit.
Well shit. I’ve only ever downloaded music and digital books, and some anime, but I know Alex has downloaded movies, specifically and recently the last two batman movies. Reblogging for him to see.
i’d steer clear of downloading shit made by hbo too
It’s happening again However the FBI just violated your privacy I say get the ACLU
What the bat said. Calm down, everyone.
The really scary thing to me is that I...use “pirating” legally.
((Signal Boost. I’ve never pirated anything, but my followers may have.))
Glad this hasn’t happened to me yet, but it’s definitely creepy.
scary stuff!
aw fuck
